What is
a Community Group?
Community Groups are one of 4 common types of Small Groups
1.
Community Groups:
Emphasizes FELLOWSHIP, studies are usually topical or Bible book
studies of interest to the group. “Community Groups” major on
building Christian relationships as we study the Bible together.
2.
Care Groups:
Emphasizes MINISTRY to group members, these groups offer support
for an area of need. Support needs can range from recovering
alcoholics to those finding themselves suddenly single again.
3.
Growth Groups:
Emphasizes DISCIPLESHIP; these groups stress accountability and
growth. They study a common curriculum and focus on maturing as a
Christian.
4.
Mission Groups:
Focus on OUTREACH; these groups strive to build evangelistic
relationships with those in the community by offering assistance
or simply sharing their faith.
While each small group is unique all incorporate some of each
emphasis.
